I was after the clasica 20 and could not find it for sale any more. There is not much on the net regarding the sofia. I think the sofia is as good as the clasica although I am no dvd boffin. It seems to have all the connections you would need. With an upgrade (an emailable file that you burn onto cd) you can get it to play svcd`s. Not sure about multi region yet but am pretty sure it will work as all the other mico players seem to be able to do it.
It seems that the sofia is the latest model whereas the clasica is the older so you would think that it is as good if not better. I am not sure if I have helped you here or not but the player seems to do everything i need in my few days of ownership.

RE: Mico have fedex`ed the VCD update for Diamante 3000
I was unsure whether to purchase a mico sofia 02a as I had read there was a problem with vcdsvcd. I rang the helpline (beofre I had bought the player) 0870 013 0020 and had a quick chat with the guy and asking about svcd compatibility. He said he could email me the file, which he did. Burn the said file onto cd, bang it in the player and it upgrades the flash ram. I can now play svcd`s :) I have not tried a different region dvd yet.
Anyway the point I am trying to make is ring the helpline as they may be able to email you the file. The one for the sofia was only small (about 320k)

Alright,
Not quite on the same topic but I am looking into buying this machine. I see a multi region hack is mentioned, where abouts do you enter this code? Also, what is the problem you are having with with playing svcd and vcd`s? Does it only play originals or something?
