Live & Let Die R2 menu problems?

Hi folks

I`m on my secomd copy of Live And Let Die from Blackstar, both have the same problem. The animated menus are static (no music, background movement or sound FX) on the activate and main menu screens.

Attempting to play the movie causes the player to spit the disc out.

I`m using a remote-hacked Sammy 709.

Anybody had this problem with the disc (duff disc)?

Anybody had the problem from Blackstar (duff batch)?

Anybody had the problem on this player (duff player)?

ID4 R1 bonus disc: How to access easter eggs with Samsung-709?

I have found the easter egg to activate the alien ship, but my remote or player won`t let me enter the 7-4-enter code to get in the ship. I have also tried with my One For All URC-7560 remote, no joy ther either.

Has anyone found a solution for this setup? TIA

Yep, same problem, when LL Cool J is trapped in the oven. I find the Samsung a bit "twitchy" with discs containing a lot of extras. I suppose I`ll just have to stump up for something posher!

Samsung DVD 709 - What remote to get?

So I have a Samsung DVD 709, which is a slightly older model but was upgraded before I bought it from Dixons on 10/01/00.

How can I tell what version of the firmware it has?

Assuming it is version 3.27, where can I get an Aiwa RC-TN999 to make it multi-region?

Is this the only remote that works?
