RE: BHD & MONSERS INC in comet`s BOGOF offer

A company that rips off its customers, has no sense of customer service and over prices DVDs needs, i feel, to be taught a lesson. This is my little go at them. If we all did the same look at the postion they would be in.

If my girlfriend was not there i would have pocketed the DVD and a TV on the way out.

DOWN with the high street electrical shop.

RE: BHD & MONSERS INC in comet`s BOGOF offer

its the collectors edition, the one with two discs.

the big deal is that this method could be used for to get any DVD you wish. I choose Monster Inc because i wanted too. Nothing to stop you getting Greese , Dirty Dancing or any girly film you like rich.

BI POLAR?????? ANY GOOD?????

After spending a bit of cash on my front speaker set up and sub, i thinks its time to replace the old rear speakers.

However, i need to know if bi-polars are any good. do they add to the sound field or just mess it up.

BHD & MONSERS INC in comet`s BOGOF offer

Just thought i`ll let you know a further devlopment in the Comet buy one get one free offer, that as we know included Black Hawk Down.

Well on entering my local store i headed toward their DVD stand. Firstly there was no mention of a BOGOF offer, or any stickers on the DVD boxes. Anyway i headed to the counter to inquire, and was told that the offer was still on and was given a list of the DVDs on offer. Looking down they were all rubbish or i had them (excpet BHD) so with the list in hand i just left the shop.

On the way out i noticed a poster advertising the offer. The poster inculded DVDs that we not on the list i was given. I therefore re enterd the shop and explalined this. I told them there list must be missing a few DVDs, as the poster clearly proved. I then went on to tell a white lie and told them that head office had told me that monsters inc was on the offer too. The guy said there must be an error in the list and gave it me.

Great BHD and Monsters Inc for £20.

I bet this can be done on any other DVD, so give it a try. Look for the poster and ask for the list, then LIE.

SETUP HEAD-ACHES

OK GUYS NEED LOTS OF ADVICE ON THIS ONE.

THE MAIN QUESTION IS, HOW CAN YOU TELL WHEN YOU HAVE GOT THE BEST SOUND SET UP POSSIBLE. I MEAN LEVELS, BASS, POSTIONING ETC. IS THERE A DEVICE YOU CAN BUYS TO SEE IF EVERYTHING IS SET AT OPTIMUM LEVELS.

I OFTEN FEEL MY EARS LET ME DOWN. ON THE TEST SIGNALS I CAN NEVER TELL WHICH IS LOUDER THEY ALL SOUND THE SAME, BUT WHEN I PUT A FILM ON THE LEVELS ARE OFTEN ALL OVER THE PLACE SO I SPEND SO MUCH TIME TWEAKING THEM FROM FILM TO FILM.

PLUS THE SUBWOOFER. WHAT IS THE BEST SETTINGS, I HAVE A PARADIGM PDR10, A GOOD SUB I FEEL, BUT I CAN NEVER BE SURE IF I HAVE THE BEST SETTINGS ON IT OR ON MY AMP WHICH IS A YAMAHA A5. WHAT IS LFE, ETC.

HELP AND ADVICE NEEDED. THANKS

CHRIS

COAXIAL VERSUS OPTICAL

WE HAVE ALL HEARD ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF DECENT CABLES IN OUR EXPENSIVE CINEMA SETUPS. HOWEVER, I AM TRYING TO WORK OUT IF WHICH INTERCONNECT PROVIDES THE BEST SOUND QUALITY:

COAXIAL OR OPTICAL

AND WHICH BRAND IS THE BEST TO BUY, AS THESE THINGS TEND TO VARY IN PRICE.

WHARFDALE DTS PROBLEMS

Can anybody help. I have a whardale 750s dvd player that is hooked up to a Yamaha A5 amp.

The problem is every time i watch a film with a DTS sound track i get slight gaps in the sound every so often. This is random.

Is this a problem with the dvd dts decoder or the Amp.
