Daewoo (The Judders) From Argos

I bought my Daewoo 2200, from Argos, August 1999.
I`ve had a juddering effect on half-a-dozen films that can only be cured by stopping the player and skipping throught the chapters.
This is obviously annoying.
Are Daewoo offering a cure for this problem?

I`ve got the Daewoo DVD (from Argos) which I believe is the same model as the Scan.
Build quality is good, remote good too.
But I`ve noticed the judder on about 3 or 4 of the 20 DVDs I`ve watched since August.
It`s like the player is missing frames.
I have to stop the disk and restart and find the relevant chapter which is annoying.
This seems to cure the problem but it`s far from satisfactory.

I have not tried disabling Macrovision but when the DVD was demonstrated in a local store the guy showed me these features.
That`s why I knew the options were there. I think the UK model number is 2000DHC or DHC2000

For those having difficulty hacking the Daewoo. (including me)
Use the hack listed for the SCAN found on this site.
When you get to the secret page you cannot see the Macrovision and Region ID options.
But keep scolling down the page and they appear.

Sorry to hear you may have been ripped off.

DVDexplorer.com seem to offer a good service but be careful when checking the shipping option.
They do try to upgrade to express for $30. USPS is $7
Play around with the URL if you cannot find the site it may be ExplorerDVD.com

Daewoo DVD from Argos

I`m still looking for a multi-region hack for this DVD.
I `ve found the `secret page` but there is no option to BYPASS the Region ID.
Any help appreciated.

Hi I recently bought this player from Argos.
I thought it was multi-reg because I saw it demo`ed in an independent.
But I think Daewoo have recently changed the spec.
You can use a hack (which is the same as the Scan machine reviewed on this site)
to access a hidden page but the bypass function no longer appears available.
There was also a function to disable Macrovision but this also appears to have been removed.
All the same I think the Daewoo is a very nice machine for the money.

Daewoo 2200 DVD multi-region hack

I tried the recommended hack for this player and accessed the hidden page. Also found the country listings which were 2-letter codes but no obvious bypass mode. I tried setting the player to US but it would not play a region one disk. Any suggestions

I bought a Daewoo DVD from Argos. I`m sure it has a hidden set-up page for multi-region access. Can anyone help with details of how to access this page. I phoned Daewoo`s customer helpline but they insist its only UK model available is Region 2. Many thanks.
