I bought my PS2 when it released, and have always enjoyed using it. I feel Xbox is quite simply a set of PC internals with a bit of midification, at least GameCube and PlayStation 2 have been "custom" designed, in that they both have a properly developed CPU. And I hear Xbox is loosing Microsoft millions, definetly not a good forcast for the future in any case.
GaemCube is a good offer at under £150, you are simply buying a PS2 without the DVD player, as in terms of Graphics they are both equal.
But you can play your PSOne games on the PS2, which is quite nice since you can use the PSOne controller for the PS2 too for multiplaying.

Get RGB with DVDs for PS2
If anyone who owns a PlayStation 2 wants to modify it to output RGB (SCART) without a green look with DVDs then you should read this page:

You will need to open the console and provided it is a UK model SCHP 30003 it WILL work. I did it last year, and have had no problems at all. It`s so much better as I don`t have to switch leads to watch DVDs or play games.

No DTS (LG DVD4950)
I have the DVD player (LG DVD4950) connected via Coaxial cable to the receiver (Kenwood KRFV5050) but I can`t get DTS. They both have the logo on them, but I can`t switch to DTS, I can get Dolby Digital, Pro Logic, and Stereo but DTS isn`t on.
I think that it may output the DTS out through the optical output, but I`m not sure.
Anyone have any ideas?
