I got These `oldies` extremely cheap and was wondering if anyone had come across any easter eggs as I cannot find any other than the `specials` in the ordinary menus.

RE: Philips 762 `No Disc" when DVD is in !!!

Don`t know if the Philips 762 has seperate lenses for audio cds and DVDs do you? The 2 lenses will be closely packed together on the pick up assy. If you managed to get crud from the rented DVD onto the dvd optics there is a fair chance it has contaminated the audio cd optics too.
Disc type cleaners are sometimes more likely to smear the crud even more onto the lens.
If it is under warranty take it back for a tech to clean.
If you want to have a go yourself then make sure you have a propriety lens cleaning fluid.
Don`t use ordinary alcohol-you`ll damage the lens.
Use cotton buds that are not adhered to the sticks by solvent type glue as this will also feck the lens coating.
Wipe in a spiral pattern ,but don`t use too much force or you`ll damage the focus coils.
Also check that the sled rails that the optics travel on are not covered in gunk.

Thanks to all that commented on `my first choice` 6515 TV.

Now here is another- I have a Kenwood Dolby Pro Logic amp and my DVD has Dolby Digital and DTS - so, do I now plump for a 5.1 system and use my kenwood for music or just get rid of the kenwood altogether, as I mentioned b4 size constraints and all, not to mention the unbelievable amount of cabling hiding behind my set up.

I also have a pioneer 6 disk CD.(14 years old and still the original laser/spin motor combo-and no problems) the DVD is MP3 compatible so do I just transfer everything onto several CDrs and play via the DVD...
You get the general idea....
How do you route cabling when you have concrete floors,by the way?

I think my remote control is a bit crap or the sensor in the player (supervision SM2500) is not decoding very well.

Although I don`t own a widescreen TV, whenever i set my sky receiver to auto switch (letterbox format) it just does not seem to know what it wants to do and pulses between normal aspect and letterbox ratios..... quethe fook?

Philips 6515 28 inch

Due to size/price constraints a 28 inch set is all I can fit in.
Does anyone have anything good/bad/ugly to say about the 6515.
I noticed that Philips have another model - 5407(in ROI) or summat like that and the prices are relatively similar , but the 5407 is not flat tube..... or should I be looking at something else at this same pricepoint Euro 1000/ with stand.
Any help would be appreciated.

I can`t seem to find any telephone boxes.
Do they change these things around/ delete Eggs often?
Is it possible that I`m just stupid?
I`ve gone into the language menu, pressed the LEFT arrow but , is there a `phone box?....Is there chuff.... help me before I melt my head.

At my work-which is where I am right now our PCs are on 24/365 as they are shared resources- As it is Intel we don`t care how much power or computers are harmed in the making of our products- only kiding.

Apparently there is more chance of componentry failing with constant on/off than with constant on.

Strangely enough just as I decided to chck out this thread, I was interrupted by said predator Dude.

SM Electronics- Supervision 2500

I have one of the above players and the software/set up menu is , shall we say, not very user friendly.
Now , for a player that cost Euro 139.99 I can`t really complain about the quality of the hardware aspect as it seems to have bells and whistles that more expensive players don`t have- 5.1, component video, s-video, optical out , MP3 and VCD playback.
My question is- can the software aspect be changed/upgraded.
I can supply further details- chipset etc if anybody has an inkling, `cos I obviously don`t.

My take on the movie is that Leonard did ` take out ` the bad guy early on in his quest for vengeance.
Teddy thought he was doing a justifiable service getting rid of the low life skanks that got away from justice.
So, as Lenny had no comprehension of his own ` wrong doing ` his conscience would be salved, but as we know his lack of memory made sure that a new day meant a return to his quest for the original perp.
Carrie Anne Moss was the one who planted the seed in his mind that Teddy was the ` Bad Guy ` as she seemed to have previous dealings with him, no doubt through her affiliation with drugs- her boyfrind was killed by Lenny, remember!
