RE: Free Region X Disk for PS2

Thanks Alan,

I`m off to buy one now!! :)

Cheers,

Fred.

RE: Free Region X Disk for PS2

Is it only just out this month then and available at all newsagents? If so, I shall be buying one myself!

Pls LMK.

Thanks.

RE: Free Region X Disk for PS2

Are you sure Alans, coz I think that I`ve seen it on the shelves before and it says that it`s only a demo that will work for a few minutes etc?

Pls let me know if it actually works through a whole duration of a film and more than 1 film etc.

Thanks!

RE: New DVDs at CD-WOW (at last) - UPDATED 04/03!

Hi Wedge G,

Annoyingly, they are only valid til 9th March

If you`re not able to use the £3 off voucher before the 9th of March, I`d be interested in taking it off your hands... ;)

Pls let me know of the voucher code at my e-mail addy:

naheehsderf[at]ku.oc.oohay

Thanks,

Fred.

RE: Cheapest price for AI Region 2??

If you sign up to www.safedoor.co.uk you will receive £5 voucher if you spend £15.

http://www.cdwow.com are doing A.I. at £14.99, if you buy another and use the £5 voucher, you only pay £12.50 each dvd delivered. They have a limited, but excellent choice of DVD`s.

I think that they also ship the Region 1 version which comes with DTS/ES soundtrack for all those DTS affectionados!

I know that you were looking for Region 2 but hey, this is a bargain(if you have a multiregion player) ! :)

RE: Looking to buy DVD`s from CDWOW, are they any good?

Thanks for that Clayts, I`m still trying to find my way round as I`m new here as you can probably tell! :)

One more thing, they are original aren`t they? What I mean is they come with the inserts and everything?

It`s just coz JonoPow mentioned that they come from Hongkong?

Just curious but I`ve ordered it now so...

Thanks for all your help.

RE: Looking to buy DVD`s from CDWOW, are they any good?

Cheers Alan and Rook.

Looks like I`ll be buying from them! :)

Looking to buy DVD`s from CDWOW, are they any good?

Hi there,

I`m looking to buy AI Artificial Intelligence and the simpsons complete season 1 at CDWOW.

I`d like to know how long they normally take to deliver from order point and what region normally in general or more specifically, in terms of the above 2 DVD`s, do they normally send you or am I likely to get?

Pls let me know.

Thanks,

Fred.

RE: New DVDs at CD-WOW (at last) - UPDATED 04/03!

Thanks for that BigAde! I`m afraid that I`ve already signed up soon after I realised that I can get £5 off.

It says that you can only get £5 off if you bought anything £15 or more. I want to get Simpsons Season 1 which is already a bargain at £14.99 but could I possibly get away with getting the £5 off with spending 1p less than the £15 suggested. That`ll be a gr8 bargain at £9.99 for the whole simpsons series one, either that or A.I.!!!

Has anyone ordered with Safedoor and got the £5 off the £14.99. If so pls let me know. I might just try myself in a minute.

Thanks,

Fred.

RE: My DVDs arrived from Britannia this morning

Hi m8t,

I ordered mine about 2 weeks ago and still hasn`t arrived. When did you order yours?

I did try to e-mail them asking for confirmation of delivery date but they said that they were unable to trace my application but it could take 28 days for delivery.

Regards,

Fred.

RE: £3.99 - £9.99 bargin pc world dvds

Does anyone know if the price match on ASDA will work on these also?

RE: LINK TO COVER FOR NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD

Cheers mate,

Fred.

RE: Traffic - DVD £7.99 and more at jungle.com

Hi Wad,

It might be worth giving them a ring mate as it`s currently showing that Evita and Traffic are in stock. Not sure about Austin Powers though.

Maybe if Austin Powers 2 isn`t in stock yet that they are awaiting that before dispatching all 3 at the same time?

RE: Traffic - DVD £7.99 and more at jungle.com

Hi mate,

P&P is a very reasonable £2.16 + vat. I got Magnolia, Rush Hour and Traffic for £22 inc vat, which I think is a very good bargain.

I know that some people have had problems with delivery but I received the dvd`s within a week as they had to order them from suppliers. So no problem there, but give them a go if you`re not in that much of a hurry(u never know, u mite get it in a week like me! :) )

Cheers!

RE: american bargains

How long does it take for the dvd`s to arrive from the date you order?

RE: Portable dvd players? any ideas

Craigiwig,

Check out the Aiwa XD-DV170.

http://www.laservision.co.uk/aiwa_xd_dv170.htm

This player is absolutely fantastic, it`s as small as 2 portable CD players stuck together! Dimensions are 230x180x63mm. My mum got me one from her visit to the Philippines which is a Region 3 version, but it has a remote hack to make it multiregion. I`ve tested R1/2/3, works like a peach, bout to test R4 soon!

Picture is fantastic even only having a component a/v and s-video output, also optical toslink output for digital sound. My version also has a karaoke function with mic inputs which can use VCD/DVD and normal audio CD`s for karaoke with Voice cancelling for audio CD`s and Multiplex for DVD/VCD.

You won`t be dissapointed!

Hope this helps.

RE: Persistance leads to success

It`s what this forum is all about "shock", bargains! And you don`t get bargains until you get up from doing nothin and move your arse. :)

RE: Night of The Living Dead for £1.50

Cheers for the info mate! Absolute bargain! £1.50 for a film which cost £9.99 online! Although if you order just this dvd alone you won`t get it in an amaray case, but nevermind, I think I have a few spare here somewhere... Does anyone know whether you get the sleeve though?

Mine`s all ordered, well chuffed.

Thanks kvh71! :)

Persistance leads to success

Hi all!!

Thanks for the info. Managed to get two copies of Gladiator and two copies of American Pie at my ASDA store in Huddersfield!! And wait for this..... all for a measly £14.97!!!! :) How?....

Went this morning armed with both price match ad and pcworld printouts. Went to customer services desk only to be told that they do not accept internet prices for price matching. Told them that head office was now accepting internet matching. Argued with customer services for about 1/2 hour only to be told to phone them again to confirm. "No way we`re allowed to price match internet offers, and I won`t do it" claimed the woman on the desk, "Come back when you`ve got proof".

Phoned head office this morning, complaining about the fiasco and got told that they had an e-mail from their security division to honour the pcworld price matching apart from the Mummy 4dvd boxset and apparently, also the Mummy single disc. I then asked them to contact the store to inform them of the acceptance.

I then went back with a big grin on my face ready for a massive confrontation. I approached the desk and the woman whom I spoke to earlier, left the desk sneakily when I again had both American Pie and Gladiator in my hands. I spoke to another woman who said the same thing, "I was informed by H.O. to await clearance for the offer, it could take days". Take days my arse! :) I said that I am not willing to leave empty handed, I asked them to phone H.O. again and refused to go. The Customer Services manager was then called, eventually he confirmed that H.O. contacted them telling them to honour the offer apart from the mummy.

I then proceeded to buy 2 copies of each, when the cashier scanned them all at 4.99 each, american pie scanned in as a multibuy. The C.S. manager was then called to sort this out but he just said to do it at the £14.97 price for all 4! Probably just wanted to get rid of me as I was holding up a very long queue!!

So, the moral of this story is.. Never give up!! You have the right to the price match as there is no exclusion clauses in their offer of a price match! (I`ve heard that they`ve caught on and are actually going to introduce a clause saying that internet offers excluded, this Friday) If they refuse, threathen them with Trading Standards for misleading advertising! So hurry and get your bargains tomorrow before they change the policy!!!

Cheers for your time, I`m off to enjoy american pie and trade/sell the other 3 copies!!

Ciao!
