Try powerhouse. they do a deccavideo which is the same machine with the same annoying ding when it opens, they aren`t that good anyway on dvdr.
the mico clasica 20 is a lot better and plays anything.
only problem is they have removed macro disable but I am looking for the updated firmware to rectify this anyway.
you could always get a macro lead the region free is still there.

mico clasica 20 dvd players

does anyone know (or have) any firmware for the mico players I am looking for any above v3.1
although the clasica still has region free facility the macro enable/disable has been removed from page 2 of the hidden menu.
looks like an earlier firmware has been used v3.1 whilst a friends has v3.3
which includes macro e/d

sounds like you have the dvd player set to ntsc.or multi
set to pal and this will sort the pic out.
depending on the player either change the video mode or simple alter to pal.

Chris, tried a dansai there the same as the deccavideo I`ve posted a rating of machines I`ve seen and tested against each other, have a nosey.
I do prefer to look for myself as other peoples idea of good can be misleading.
Which x-wave have u? mines 2 years old badged up as a jeutech must admit I`m finding it hard to get anything new which is anywhere near as good.

ntsc 2 pal... how does your player rate?????

I could do with everyones ratings for there players on ntsc 2 pal conversion.
I`m trying to find out which players produce the smoothest conversion.
Already known the following
Pacific 750.....v.poor
pacific 1000....v.poor
dansai ........poor>medium
deccavideo......v.poor
x wave............medium>good.

these are my views of machines I personally have tested.

no disrespect fran but look at the judder on the ntsc 2 pal transfers on the pacific750 thats why I got rid.
O.K. 4 region 2 though.

hi chris
new decca 5100 came today even worst than the last one ....
white was far to vivid making it impossible to read notices etc.( in the films)
a band came up as in the last one.
ntsc to pal was on par with the pacifics ...rubbish
taking it back tomorrow will get another x-wave cheaper in the long run.

All known kenwood hacks needed.
have they the same inards as any other players?

Just read your reply I was told they were fantastic, best thing since sliced bread etc.
but they are rubbish.
Courts can order a decca 4 u but hangfire as the one I got from them last week has a band come up on recording and playback of certain films.
It will only be a fault on the machine I have, but they are sending another on friday.if it works O.K. it is probably a better machine even then my trusty x-wave (I think they are probably the same machine)
the macro and region hack are simple (same as the x-wave)
If u can wait while friday I will post.
U could still order 1 anyway if it don`t work u can always take it back.

setup brings up menu(don`t have to have the drawer open)
press stop

I tried 2 of them they both went straight back.
u r better looking at the ones u posted about.
have a look at the judder on the pacific when converting ntsc > pal
then if the tv permits switch setting to ntsc and see how it should look.
the pacifics are now made elsewhere ( so i`ve been told )

best I`ve found is the x-wave i`m using plays anything, proper conversion
best pound 4 pound value i`ve found around £160-£180
also the usual mp3 vcd karioke(dont think its spelt like that)

o.k. try this
doing this from memory until i rig the decca up again, using a x-wave at the min.
switch on (sorry but u would b surprised!!)
open tray
press setup (brings up your menu)
press stop
previous (the left one of the two buttons directly under stop button)
next (the right one )
this brings up hidden menu with region settings macro on/off etc.
let me know how it goes.

better still go to courts and buy the decca ddv 5100
looks a lot better and without the annoying ding when you open the tray.

Whichever u go 4 the hacks are all the same

on remote...press
setup....stop....previous...next..
sorts out region and macro
has problems with some disneys though!!!

new deccavideo ddv5100 region macro hack

good news the hack for this latest machine stays the same as others use dansai hack. use buttons on remote they arn`t on the front of the machine.
looks 100 times better then earlier models.

I haven`t got it yet I`ve the older version (relabelled dansai)
I know its multi region and has more features than the older model.
( looks good 2 ) priced at £114.
hoping the dansai hack will work ( know on friday when it comes )
I was just hoping someone else already had one.

Courts have them but are shutting the electrical part down (some good bargains) will post friday night and let everyone know.

deccavision 5100 region / macro hack

Any one know if the region and macro hack are the same on the decca 5100 as the dansai 852

The deca is from courts if its not the same do u know it.

Sorry guys my mistake, I always get these 2 mixed up.
the 750 (silver one ) is the latest model not the 1000 as u would expect
the hacks are for the silver 750 from asda.
there aint a macro hack 4 the 1000 u r better taking it back to asda and exchanging 4 the 750 (while u can there stopping them)

genuine mistake ( the silver ones are better anyway!!)
