RE: Best place to buy batterys (for my Kodak DX3700 camera :-)
Some info from kodak.com below, but basically they strongly suggest that you use Nimh batteries (or lithium, but they aren`t rechargeable and are damn expensive). You will also need a seperate charger for them, as they won`t charge in the camera.
I looked in Woolworths earlier, no sign of any battery chargers in this branch, so I suppose they may have all gone, or only in some branches. 7dayshop.com looks like the next cheapest - £16 all in for 8 1600mah batteries with charger.

Question:
I put my camera in the Camera Dock to recharge the batteries and the red light never comes on. What`s wrong?

This can happen if the battery pack is already fully charged, or if you have batteries installed other than the KODAK Ni-MH Rechargeable Battery Pack. The Dock detects the battery type and starts charging only if the correct battery is used.
Our cameras have the ability to use alkaline batteries but, if you want batteries that can run the camera for long periods of time, you may want to use a lithium battery (which are made to use in a digital camera). We do not even recommend alkalines for use in our cameras anymore. In Kodak lab tests, Ni-MH rechargeable batteries delivered the best results in a variety of conditions. Ni-MH batteries are designed for high-demand devices like digital cameras and do not exhibit the "memory" effects seen with other rechargeable technologies.
I`m afraid the only battery that charges in the dock is the rechargable battery that comes with the dock. The battery is available on the Kodak website.

yes, it does take AA`s.
I saw some cheap Nimh batteries with Charger at Woolworths the other day, I think it was about £7 for 4 batteries with charger (I could be completely wrong though).
They were not particularly high-capacity batteries (1100mah or 1300mah), but you can get better `photographic` batteries at Dixons - 1500mah are £10 for 4, and 1700mah are £12 for 4. I bet you can get them cheaper though!
The one kodak supplies for £8 is basically 2 1600mah Nimh batteries taped together.
If you don`t want rechargeables, Richer Sounds is probably your best bet - 20 duracell for £5.
