My Wharfie is a M5 and it has no trouble with VCD`s and most other SVCDs, just this one so far !!!

Philips 750 - how do I remove multiregion hack & VCD problems
I want to remove the multi region hack from my Philips dvd - does anyone know how to do this ?
I want to do it, to see if it has affected playback of VCD`s - I have some now that freeze and refuse to play - has anyone had this probelm too ?
Any answers to the two questions would be appreciated.

DVP-NS300 Widescreen Problems
DVD is a SONY - DVP-NS300
The problem is when a DVD is played that is widescreen ( Most of them now ) and you get the
black line at the top and bottom. You get two white dots that flicker during the play.
How Noisy should a Wharfdale be ?
I have just brought a Wharfdale M5 from Tesco ( serial no. 128xxxx)
And as this is my first DVD I thought it would be silent, however when you insert a disc and it "spins up" the machine makes a humming noise which is quite loud, if you`re listening for it I suppose ! This carries on through a film but is less noticable when the sound is up.
Question is : is this humming and the louder spin when you change menus etc normal - any M5 owners want to fill me in.
Please help a nit picking DVD owner.

I am interested in the Schneider DVD 855 , and wondered what you all thought of it?
Also it says on the box "Upgrade by CD" is this taliking about the firmware ? and has anyone done it ?

I have just returned my Samsung M105 to the shop after finding it doesn`t play CD-R. Which of these others do you know definately do & any comments on which I should buy ?
