last vcd backup i did was u 571 and there was no blocking at all with the program set at high quality ( yes it takes 2 hrs longer but i let it do its thing at night ) i do not have any problem what i use is
1 smart ripper
2 dvd2avi
3 tmpeg
4 nero

as 2 the question on quality,i played a vcd 2 my friend and asked dvd or vcd he replied dvd. with the new programs around quality is not a problem using them is, the ones down the local market or car boot sale are converted for speed not quality good luck

easy way i found was 2 use prog TMPGE first then burn with nero to make a vcd.? ur sampo it will play vcd from coppied discs

making vcd,s is no 5 minute job ,when i convert dvd 2 vcd it takes arounb 8 or 9 hrs on a fast machine from start 2 finish and uses 3 complex programs not inc nero to burn 2 cd also make shure ur dvd player will play copied vcd first good luck

well just compleated my first conversion ( for back up ) 8 hrs. picture & sound very good and the vcd plays on my dvd player was it worth it ? i think so

it is all down to the media u use only a handfull of brands work in dvd players ( laser wavelength & more )myself making audio cd`s and
converting dvd to vcd Verbatim/Mitsubishi make (and are the only ones that make) the dark blue type media (so called "Metal-Azo". In my experience, they are very good media. and work. never had one that dose not play in a dvd player yet ( ps £0.18p each )

close with "i" on remote

macrovision? do not worry about it ,if u record a reg 2 dvd onto video it makes the picture go dark & light
macrovision on - bad recording
macrovision disabled - good recording ( reg 2 dvd )

To set your player to all region, follow the instructions below :
Power on player with no disc in the tray
Press PAUSE
Key in 3, 1, 4, 1, 5, 9 (displays shows CODE 00)
Select your Region (for multi region - select 0)
Press PAUSE
Power off player and wait for a while before switching back on.
please try this if no luck i will get u an update for firmware

- OPEN - SETUP - 7 - 6 - ENTER
You can change the REGION CODE.
It´s possible to turn off MACROVISION.
When your player was delivered with a FW higher then A008.0 then you can turn off MV only temporarly.
You have to turn it off each time you turn on the player.
