Review for Proporta Smart Hessian Pouch

10 / 10

The iPhone.

It's shiny. It's everywhere. It's got a fair share of lovers and a fair share of haters. If you have one, you're probably a lover, even if you're not a rabid Steve Jobs-loving Mac geek.

As I've mentioned before, it's a fragile little thing that's also a slippery little sucker (to quote Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman). It can slide out of hands or pockets quite easily. Whilst a few scratches or even the odd dent won't be much of a problem, an unexpected meeting with the floor could leave your iPhone more seriously damaged, which could cause subsequent damage to the wallet or purse...

So you need some kind of protection for your device. Today I'm looking at the Proporta Smart Hessian Pouch, which will protect your precious shiny thing whilst also protecting the planet.

Proporta have various ranges available. Here is a very simple review of the product - you slip the iPhone in, it does the job very well and looks very stylish. Part of the minimal packaging it ships with (a small piece of bamboo) is then inserted into a pocket in the pouch to provide additional protection. And that's it. Oh, you can also use the card that makes up the rest of the package as a stand to put your iPhone on for watching video etc.

Of more interest is the company itself. Proporta have had an epiphany and are all about the eco-friendly product now.

Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants in the world and can grow up to 60cm in a day - it's natural and sustainable. Hessian is a better lining than canvas, because canvas isn't very good for the environment. Bamboo in a soft fabric form shouldn't be used as a screen cleaning cloth because the process it goes through uses loads of energy. So Proporta products look good, do a great job, and help to protect our fragile environment whilst helping to satisfy our demand for shiny...

If you want to protect your iPhone and your planet a bit more, you need a pouch like this.
