Si Wooldridge says...
"Where's this streaming?"

It will probably be on Paramount+ when the service launches in the UK later this year (no date yet).

I expected this to air on the regular Paramount Network channel like Yellowstone did, since this is a prequel to that show. But I guess they wanted to keep all their new shows for their sparkly new streaming platform.

This has been renewed for a second season.

They also announced a second Yellowstone prequel series called '1932' which will follow a new generation of Duttons during the time of western expansion, prohibition and the Great Depression.

episode 10 and Gareth said its been renewed but it has finished perfectly so don't know if the sequel is the renewal? under no circumstances should anyone read the following spoilers if you have any intention of watching this

SPOILER:
so last episode the daughter was shot by an arrow and survived but later turns out it was a poison arrow and hit her kidney which was pretty much fatal,  the mother and father discussed her injury was tough to watch and I didn't post anything under episode 9 as I thought they would come across a native American medicine man who would heal her, but no, she died :( devastated tbh as I adored her character and narrative, the other death scenes were upsetting too and as much as I loved this the finale was brutal :( By far the best show on tv this year and must be a shoe in for a load of honours

‘Yellowstone’ Franchise Casts Helen Mirren & Harrison Ford In ‘1932’ Prequel

Quote:
The cast keeps getting better and better in the Yellowstone universe. Paramount+ announced today that Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford will star in 1932 (working title), the next installment of the Dutton origin story.

The streamer offered no additional information on who Mirren and Ford will play in the latest Taylor Sheridan joint, other than saying “the next story will introduce a new generation of the Dutton family and explore the early twentieth century when pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression all plague the mountain west, and the Duttons who call it home.” It will bow in December and is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch Productions.

The latest Yellowstone spinoff comes on the heels of 1883, the one-off prequel that starred Tim McGraw and Faith Hill as James and Margaret Dutton. The drama that also starred Sam Elliott, LaMonica Garrett and Isabel May became the most-watched title ever on Paramount+ globally.

Figured I would put this here since it's all part of the same family. Harrison Ford is a pretty big scoop for a TV series.

There is also another Yellowstone spin-off in development called 6666, which takes its name from the "four sixes" ranch. So no, it's not a western set 4000 years into the future. Bummer.

Also announced, what was originally reported as a "second season" of 1883 will in fact be a spin-off called 1883: The Bass Reeves Story.

Quote:
The limited-run project will star Golden Globe nominee David Oyelowo (Selma) as Reeves, a legendary lawman of the Wild West. “Known as the greatest frontier hero in American history, and also believed to be the inspiration for The Lone Ranger, Reeves worked in the post-Reconstruction era as a federal peace officer in the Indian Territory, capturing over 3,000 of the most dangerous criminals without ever being wounded,” the logline describes.

So a spin-off of a spin-off. I'm dizzy.
