lol no, they weren't. Everything that happened, did happen. The island was real and the characters were alive.

The only time the characters were dead was in the "flash-sideways" in the final season, which it turned out was just some sort of agnostic purgatory where they could come to terms with what had happened and reunite before passing on to whatever came next. Everyone being dead from the start might actually have been an improvement.

As for GoT, I think I've reached the acceptance stage. There is no saving the show now and the finale leaks are beyond a joke. RIP.

Wow, what a pile of s*** that was.  An hour-long gratuitous gorefest.
She flips and suddenly thinks she'll kill thousands of innocent men, women and children with a dragon that has suddenly got good at flying and dodging.  She decides not to bother with Cersei for a good while while she roasts everyone - in areas full of her own army too.  Then goes near her tower but doesn't actually get it.  Hilarious.  Probably the onlt one in it that was true and consistent was the Hound.  Jon Snow is a joke really.
I could imagine someone watching it for the first time and not knowing anybody in it thinking it was good - but 'what had all those people done to warrant such violent deaths?'  With the explanation that it was, er, nothing.
The effects were so inconsistent too.  Fire and low down city scenes were so well done but the scenes from height and from Dany's POV were so obviously green screen and you could tell the small scales models too.
Good job there happened to be a lonely white horse hanging around at the end for Arya too.
6 longer episodes has been a mistake of epic proportions.  More shorter length episodes could have allowed the story to have 'breathed' more and spread out and scenes that have been built up to for so many years not have felt so needlessly rushed.
Jaime's route to Cersei was hilarious too - and he was impressive the way he survived those two stabbings - although it was nice of Greyjoy not to kill him instantly the second time he stabbed him while he wasn't looking.  Having Cersei just die in a crush is such a cheat and denies the viewers of a proper confrontation that had been alluded to for years.

Definitely.
Tyrion should kill Daenarys and the blacksmith end up on the throne.
Right back where it all started then with another Lannister 'king' slayer and a Baratheon on the throne.

Oh lawd...

SPOILER:
That awkward moment when a CGI dragon emotes better than the lead actress...

So in the end, Jon being a Targaryen - a mystery that was speculated and theorised about for 23 years - was just a plot device used to create a bit of friction between him and Dany.

The show's version of the Azor Ahai prophecy was the biggest damp squib of all. So much build up for nothing.

And Bran went through all of that just to become the King? Wtf happened to "No, but you will fly..."

Please George, get on the treadmill and live long enough to give us the real ending.

I thought that wrapped up quite nicely.

My only qualm was the speed at which the Unsullied changed their minds.
