RE: [VIDEO] Westworld Season 3
The story isn't as convoluted this season, but it still feels too much like the writers are trying to appeal to the Reddit sub. Episode 5 was a total misfire with the 'Genre' gimmick and that car chase was hilariously bad, too.
I really want to like the show but they make it so difficult.
RE: [VIDEO] Westworld Season 3
Episode 6 was pretty great.
SPOILER:
I was really hoping that RED-209 would tear s*** up a little more, but it was still a great moment.
Charlores is definitely the most compelling character this season.
I finally got around to watching this, and I enjoyed this season. Aaron Paul really helped me want to watch it, and I'm glad I did. A much easier to follow plot without endless time shifting for no reason, also... a plot that was substantial enough they didn't have to hide how little plot there was by endless time shifting for no reason.
Not sure where they can go with season 4, kind of hoped they would end on a high.
SPOILER:
Still not sure what that key unlocked, or where Bernard was between the end of the credits and the end of the last episode.
Hope Delores comes back (proper Delores not forked Delores!)

I stopped watching this after Ep1 of season 2 which I thought was a bit of a mess.
Did I make a mistake?

Season 2 had some of the show's greatest episodes (4 and 8 being particularly noteworthy). It was also a convoluted and often frustrating mess that pushed a lot of viewers away. The writers were tackling some big sci-fi ideas but didn't manage to convey them with the same elegance as they did in the first season.
Season 3 had its moments but IMO it was the weakest season so far. I wrote this ramble on another forum at the time. I'll put it in spoiler tags but its not very spoilery tbh:
SPOILER:
The writers seem to have gotten bogged down in explaining endless swathes of backstory, often at the expense of the main narrative. Even when they are making big reveals, the show lacks any sense of momentum. They are obsessed with world-building, but the world they have built feels cold and sparse. It's not dystopian, it's just empty.
Bernard and Stubbs are just kind of ambling around, not really doing anything. William is just cracking one-liners, now his entire motivation is "gotta kill all the bots". Dolores is still a one-dimensional terminator. What does she even want, again? Caleb is super boring, although Aaron Paul is getting great mileage from his three facial expressions.
Charlotte is the only character with an interesting arc this season.
Then there's the endless poorly executed action scenes. Can one character please just aim their weapon before firing?
It's a shame because season 1 was so brilliant.
Decided not to watch season 3 after the mess that was season 2.

I don't know, but I didn't like 2 at all, and tbh I'm not even sure I could remember much of it other than it being a mess. But I really enjoyed 3.
You could just watch a 1 & 2 plot catchup youtube video and try episode S3E1.
