RE: [VIDEO] The All New Doctor Who Thread...
well have to say I quite enjoyed it... yes we all know Daleks aren't scary anymore, the doctor has defeated them so often.
For me, The Weeping Angels have been the best 'monster/alien' in recent years...
I'm a big fan of current Doctor such a good casting choice after the last incarnation, she is really good, and sad to see her companions go, as I thought they worked so well together.
John Bishop, not a fan of his... but will see what happens, apparently he was an actor before becoming a comedian?
Sci-fi really has moved on, I recently watched Galactica, having been a 70's/80's child I remember fondly Battlestar Galactica, some time change is necessary... Would love to see Blakes 7 remade, Firefly was an imitation, but I am sure it would be ruined.

Missed it. No loss, Doctor who is no longer what it used to be.
Time to dump the BBC TV licence, and get them just to advertise like all other stations.

Given that this is a Doctor Who thread, I think I'd better ask if you're posting from 2019 before stating the obvious pandemic excuse for a plethora of repeats and a lack of new quality programming.

I don't watch much on the BBC anymore, although I do listen to Radio 4 a bit, and His Dark Materials was excellent.
I would say a valid argument for getting rid of the license fee is how we've ended up with an organisation that no longer seems interested in holding the government to account. There are exceptions who still do this, but if they expended half the energy on that as they did on Corbyn (and I am no fan of Corbyn), maybe they might actually feel accountable.

So...is this actually any good or is it another of those woeful lecturing scripts?

It was good, no woeful lecturing was involved :)

This isn't confirmed yet, just a rumour! Although maybe the BBC refusing to comment on it is confirmation...
She's a good doctor but you are right about the writing being poor and very formulaic. The two part master episode was brilliant, but after that I've kind of struggled a little.
