So watched Part 2...
It was fun enough, the characters seem a little more 'present' than they were in the previous season, and I enjoyed the story for the most part.
It seems a little odd though. Previously Chibnall was all about reinventing the wheel, all new DW, all new monsters and all new stories, but this season, it looks like he's playing from the RTD/Moffat playbook, old monsters, season long arcs, and a twist at the end of Part 2 that undoes pretty much all of his predecessors' story arcs, and quite cheaply at that.

It's always struck me as odd, but possible damage control on the part of the writers, that while the Doctor can travel through time & space at will, Gallifrey's timeline seems to be stubbornly linear.
Also, did Lenny Henry just disappear from the episode, or did I miss a scene?

After his plan went phut, he stormed out of the theatre telling random minions to 'get him out of there'. No doubt he'll return later in the series with a new plan.

I'm not enough of a Who nerd to get on board with all the negating of previous plots etc but...
For me those two episodes were far more engaging than the entire previous series and any attempt to pick holes in story of a time travelling, regenerating main character?
Really?
Let's just stay on board and see how they plan to resolve it.

Orphan 55 was going okay until the heavy-handed and redundant sermon at the end...

Aye was another enjoyable episode and given the state we are in I didn't mind the sermon one bit :)

Thought it was a backward step myself and back to the over preachy style of some of the last series.
