Agreed. It makes no sense. With significant numbers of survivors in supposedly well run enclaves, wouldn't your best bet at survival be to just join them?

It also seems they are just setting up the next bad "guy" enemy they'll be fighting off for the next season or so. Same pattern as usual.

Next season already confirmed.

And...

SPOILER:
Judith knew how dangerous Negan was and yet she just lets him go free. She simply wouldn't have done that.

But...

SPOILER:
He's a changed man. He's nice now didn't you know?

Just caught up with the second half of series 9 (or what's been shown on Fox so far, at any rate). It is absolutely appalling.

I still watch it. I don't know why. I suppose it's a bit like slowing down to look at a minor car crash.

They've adopted the exact same pattern as usual: new baddie, only this time they're really bad and nasty - no, more than the last one, honest (they are not). They should call it The Walking Groundhog Day.

Apparently having huge armouries of weapons and town-sized populations who've already fought mini-wars simply aren't able to wipe out a bunch of starving, unwashed hobbos who live in the woods.

But they've got Samantha Morton with a shaved head who's really horrible to her OWN daughter! They'll do anything to survive including allowing themselves to be killed, leaving the weak/babies to die, and meekly being sliced up by their own leadership, all so they can live in a pile of dirt. A true recipe for a thriving community. Yep, they've really thought it through (in a "wouldn't f***ing happen" kind of a way.)

They have also added a bit of inter-town politics just to sap out any remaining menace. Interminable earnest chats in dark corners always get the pulse racing.

Season 10 is the final season (I guess they have enough offshoots to keep bringing the money in) and I'm tempted to just go back to season 8 where I stopped and finish it.

I've caught up to where I stopped, which was the halfway point on Season 8. The rest of 8 and then season 9, where good in places. Now halfway through the final season (it's on hiatus till Feb) and, again it's had it's moments but unless you are a completist or you enjoy playing "which movie is it ripping off now" then...

I'm watching the final season on Disney+. Is there a hiatus there too or is it just a Sky thing?

On checking, it looks like one more episode (ep8) available today and then the first of two (2) season breaks!

(and yes I'm the sucker that is STILL watching it)

Probably stay there, preserve the memories. :)

Actually, the season finale of 6 was pretty incredible.
