Season 2 trailer but dec 30th start date :(, although its after the doctor departs
FOX UK has now confirmed that season 2 will get underway here in the UK on Thursday January 10th at 9pm!
'The Orvile' season 1 box set is now available on DVD for region 2 (UK).
It will not be on blueray. Cost at present is around £20 for the DVD, cheapest I have seen it is £14.99 so far.
I will get it but wait till its under a tenner. (yes, I am a cheapscate )
I’ll get it if it ever drops below a fiver, watch it and bin it, then wait for a Blu-ray if it’s any good.

1st 2 episodes very good, episode 2 though, hilarious, touching and a little bit gross :)
New season, Ist episode ....was a bit too soap opera for me, just a story to get to know the characters (again), also introduce a new character. Luckly the humor carried it through.
SPOILER:
PS..that robot guy is just a pure danger around humans, as with an IQ of 10,000, but with no idea of humanities emotions, he is better avoided.
2nd episode..if you are into Alien porn, this is the one for you, as Mbilko says its gross. Also another reason to get rid of Holodecks on spaceships
SPOILER:
PS..the illegal holodeck programmer alien is a sight to behold. Would not like to meet it in a dark alley
Episode 3 ..Home, this is what we want and why we love to watch the Orville.
A really good episode, bringing in the si fi element of a heavy gravity planet, so heavy a human could not survive in it, but an alien species that were born on it, could.
Story and visuals was well done, and was happy so see some old actors from Star trek in it.
SPOILER:
They brought in another common theme of a caste system on this alien planet, where we saw scientist caste, then the lower down soldier caste (frowned upon by scientists) and to the lowest worker caste (the caretaker). Only thing that was missing was the top Administration/political caste, but we do not want to talk politics here
Episode 4, fantastic, fantastic, fantastic, best of the series so far and up there with any Star Trek episode, he really has nailed the writing and cut back the Ott humour, this is far and away my favourite sci-fi show in years.

Have to agree Episode 4 was real good and funny.
That nightshift security alien guy with the elephant trunk is just pure messy and clatty, reminds me of some workmates over the years
As for the love interest in the story well.....
SPOILER:
If it had been Captain Kirk, he would still have been all over her, no matter as a human woman or an alien woman, with scales
Episode 5.....Visually the alien planet and inhabitants situation was well done, But was dissapointed due to the unrealistic and lazy script writing at the finish by the way it gave an abrupt ending.
Unrealistic ending....
SPOILER:
The two crew members kill a lot of the prison guards, and then are tied up to posts to be shot, and then miracliously because 'a star' appears in the night sky, they no longer get shot and are freed. The anger of the head guard alone would have made sure they would have got shot. Yes unrealistic ending.
