Amazing series this, shame it's nearly over. :(

How about this for Season 2?

Great finale to a fantastic first season.

They did a great job of balancing a very complex story and gave it a satisfying end despite the verdict. I particularly liked how they explored Cochran's motivations, giving him a depth that explained him without excusing him.

Episode 6 is still my favourite, though, and I fully expect Sarah Paulson to be nominated for a boatload of awards for that one.

As for season 2, Ryan Murphy said in January that he would like it to cover Hurricane Katrina.

Quote:
Murphy says the working plan is to follow a group of six to eight people in an attempt to examine all sides of the tragedy, from the Superdome in New Orleans to the hospital to those who were put on buses and dropped off with babies who had to wear trash bags for multiple days.

I don't know whether I love or hate this idea.

Yeah, amazing series. Reminded me in some ways of The Wire, in how all sides (well nearly anyway) had very clear and understandable motivations for their actions.

I don't blame the defense for quitting law after that trial. I can't imagine how you would carry on after having such a high profile murderer get off.

As for a second season, what has Hurricane Katrina got to do with crime? That would be very odd. Unless he renamed it to American Disaster Story?

Update on the status of this show:

They had previously announced three more seasons:

2. Katrina
3. The murder of Gianni Versace
4. Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky scandal

The already shooting Versace season will now become season 2, to air in early 2018. Early buzz suggests that it will be very good indeed.

Due to the extensive water effects required for Katrina, they are pushing back filming to later in the year. It will be based on the book The Great Deluge: Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast and will air in late 2018.

If none of those fancy your tickle, NBC are also producing Law & Order: True Crime - a competing anthology series. The first season will tackle the Menendez murders and will air in the autumn (in the US, no word on the UK).

First episode of Versace is pretty good. Penelope Cruz is the standout for me.

Production is finally going forward on the Clinton/Lewinksky season, with Beanie Feldstein (Lady Bird, Booksmart) cast as Monica Lewinsky.

Impeachment: American Crime Story will go into production in February and will air in late 2020.

I'm glad about that, it didn't make any sense in the context of the first season. Mind you I don't think the second season (I hated that one!) did either.

Season 3 'Impeachment' begins September 7th.

I still can't see Clive Owen as Bill Clinton but I'm sure it will work.

Trailer should arrive soon, but in the meantime there is this promo image:
