We won.
Away at United.
With a penalty.
Given by Mike Dean.

The world has shifted on it's axis the poles have reversed and somewhere Fergie has choked on his glass of Chateau Lafite.

Not only a win but we played well enough to deserve it. We are coming together as a team a lot quicker than I thought we would.
Two CBs on yellow cards fairly early on and despite that we managed the game well.
I think what impresses me most is that I feel a lot less 'Oh sh*t not him' when Arteta swaps players in and out. He's got everyone playing to his non-negotiable standard.

Who we field against Molde will be interesting. I'd be tempted to put Auba on from the start as now he's broken his dry spell with that penalty it would do him good if he could put one or two past them.

That's it jinxed, we'll lose now.

I mean it's great that Man Utd are so poor right now, but you are right, a win away at Old Trafford... that's nice!

Unfortunately marathon training meant I couldn't see most of the game but I got to enjoy the last 20 minutes.

Not that it means anything, but that's Ole's old team...

On Sky's coverage Roy Keane was talking about how he thought (I'm putting this mildly) the Arsenal team calling Arteta by his first name was disrespectful, and it should be the Boss or Chief or Gaffa or something.

I wonder how common this is, and how much of it is related to Mikel being within 10 years of some of the senior players in age, so closer to their generation.

I think it's a generational thing.  Don't forget in the Civil Service many moons ago and well before my time, management grades were called Mr/Mrs Surname whereas these days everyone uses first names...

Modern players/workers tend to respond better to the informalities, as I think Mikel is proving...

There's many ways to achieve respect and he seems to be doing very well with his way.
Keane seemed to find his level at captain and never managed managing.

His time with Eire suggested he couldn't manage his own level of expectations and expected the things taken for granted at United to be in place at an international level, where the money and organisation is just not there.

He's deffo old school and probably moans in a Victor Meldrew fashion about pesky iPhones and similar...

That was a very tired performance, did we even manage to hold onto the ball without giving it away for more than 10 seconds?

I don't think it was even that. Nobody seemed to give much of a toss.
I found that a very difficult watch.
Not to pick out one player, as none of them deserve much credit today, but I've yet to see Willian be worth a bag of crisps much less what we paid for him.

Too easy to over react to one match win or lose so I'll go and watch a movie, have a drink and sleep on it.
