We seem to have a good team of 11 first choice players, but remove two of them and suddenly we struggle.

Another win in the Premiership, and getting better and better attacking wise.

Also really nice to see Saka and Smith Rowe playing such good football. Only seems like 2018 we were hoping they could break into the first team!

I think the thing that really impresses me most about the two S's, is they play so consistently and make such good decisions. And they both have such an amazing touch and awareness.

Also nice to see Holding is staying fit!

I just watched the "highlights". I guess the league was more important to you than the cup ;)

The speculation in advance was that you would come out wanting it a lot more today, and it did look that way, didn't help that we had a couple of key players missing :(

Aubameyang and Tierney?
I'd say we were a bit handicapped as well.

Probably right though.
One of those calculations that we should have had just enough to shade the cup match. I mean it was one own goal between us at the end.

I hope Smith Rowe and Partey are nothing serious.
Seeing as Pepe was booked for not going off quick enough when substituted and then wasn't substituted with Smith Rowe already on the ground awaiting attention does that card get rescinded?

United on Saturday is going to be an interesting test. The edge for me will be Arteta as I think he's smarter than Solskjaer just as long as the team play as well as tonight.
Not sure Auba will be back, or be fully focused if he is. I don't know what the personal problem is but obviously the team do and are backing him to get through it.

I don't know, you could argue that it should be rescinded because Smith Rowe was on the ground needing treatment.

I assumed that was a joke tbh.
Was he booked because he took too long going off in a timewasting sense or because he knew of an injury and didn't think he'd be going off?
If he was timewasting but something else meant he wasnt actually subbed I'd say that's irrelevant. If he didn't go off because he was aware of something the ref wasn't then that's a bit different maybe..

We will pay the price but we will not count the cost..

I believe he was booked because he didn't go off at the nearest point of the pitch, but he didn't do that because Smith Rowe was lying on the ground needing treatment, and then by the time he got there they changed their mind about the sub because of Smith Rowe so he never went off.

So I guess, yes, he was aware of Smith Rowe and the ref was not.

A point well earned with three of our best off the pitch.
Could actually have won it.
Ref at best had a bad match. How Cavani down the back of Xhaka's ankle was not even a card is beyond me.
Four points off them this season bank this one and move on to Tuesday. Matches coming thick and fast now.

EDIT: Apologies to Cavani. It was Fernandes

Okay, wow, so, I am still not sure why that was a penalty. But I haven't obsessively watched the footage so maybe it is.

But it looked more to me like David trips himself over and the Wolves player does too.

As I've heard it discussed if Luiz actually made a tackle, even if nowhere near the ball, it would've been a penalty and a yellow card. It falls through a hole in the rules and allows a red card.

Bloody ridiculous as he doesn't alter his stride pattern it's a minimal contact between heel and knee.

Yes I'm biased but the other way round and I'd have a very embarrassed grin as I thanked the football gods.

Ref and the VAR official were useless the whole match.
Gave Wolves a throw in when it was clearly and instantly provable as a corner. What happened to 'clear and obvious error'.

Leno.
Brain fade panic as we're a man down and he's trying to play sweeper as well as goalie.
