19 seasons in Champions league to Spurs 6 I think.

A bit further to go to catch up.

Well I took a couple of hours off work to come back and watch us in the Youropa cup and spent about 70 minutes of that regretting the decision.

Pepe though. 😁👌

If I recall wasn't it about the same number of matches before Henry started hitting his stride?
...and how long is it since we scored one free kick, let alone a brace.

Still coming down on the maybe no Christmas card for Emery side though.

I felt the same, I also felt for Maitlen-Niles. There is a lot of talent in this team, Smith-Rowe with some amazing tricks, but Pepe not only scoring once from a free kick but twice... was nice. ;)

I do think an often unemphasised part of what makes a team good defensively is them being scary in attack. In past teams when we've been a creative, relentless attacking force we generally only conceeded from a long ball or a set piece.

It's been a long while since we were scary in attack and did that. Maybe this team has the seeds of that.

I do not understand how that 3rd Arsenal goal was disallowed by VAR, if anything I see a possible penalty on Chambers before that moment.

Atkinson is yet again another ref who could check a monitor but chooses not to.

Xhaka needs to be replaced permanently in the team, how is he captain?

So annoyed with that game for so many reasons.

Haven't seen any of it yet but followed the match on the club's audio.

The commentators were dumbfounded about WTF was going on as there were no replays and just as astounded when the reason for the decision was explained.

Xhaka sounds as though he's going on a long well paid holiday until he's off loaded in January unless there's some serious groveling.

Even the most respected (at least by me) Arsenal bloggers are now on the Emery out side.

VAR is a valid aid but the way it's being used is pathetic.

Don't think we've won a game in this comp for a few years if that gives you an idea of where it is in our priorities.
Hopefully Elliot will get a run out as he's so exciting to watch.  I expect to see many changes...

That was an exciting game, lots of kids got a long run out, some amazing future talent on that pitch tonight on both sides.

Everyone made a lot of mistakes, which somehow led to it being more entertaining than it should have been.

Don't mind going out on penalties, the kids done well.

Yeah, after the equaliser that ironically left me thinking well surely VAR would have disallowed that and then seeing some of the comedic defending and goalkeeping from both sides there were some OK displays from a few players and it was an entertaining enough game.
And pens are always exciting.
