And now today we have Usmanov selling up at Arsenal, not quite what that means for us yet...

Probably means a great deal as if he's a mind to he may use your club to shove one up Kronke.
Glad he never had control of Arsenal.
If it had to be one or t'other Kronke is the lesser evil.

We had that last year with an overcrowded midfield...

Some interesting, late signings today - Mina looked decent in the WC.

I'm ecstatic about this window, seems to be so well organised.
Just shows that the most important signing we made is Marcel Brands.

Not sure about that - but it shows the importance of not only having someone there who you know is going to be there for a while - but also can attract players you otherwise simply wouldn't have been in for or got. Countless examples of that at Liverpool with Klopp.

Whilst it appears that Silva had a big hand in persuading the players to come, I don't think we would even have been in with a shout if it wasn't for the background work done by Brands whilst Silva assessed the squad during pre-season.
Most of the players that need to go have gone, albeit a few on loan, but the transformation of the team alone is incredible in the space of essentially a few weeks...
Not convinced we'll hit the top six, but I think we'll consolidate with better football than we played last year, which was dire.

I'm wondering if your last day throwing money around like a sailor on shore leave has anything to do with Usmanov selling up to Stan.
If he throws in with you lot I'm sure there'll be an element of 'Up yours' to Stan and a probably unstated desire to see EFC above AFC.

Heard a stat on the radio earlier saying Everton have spent 270 million in the last 12 months. Wow.
I didn't realise it was that much.
