I hope Wenger's enough of a realist to have already given up on 'The league is a priority' as winning (yeh I know) the Europa is the only way he's going to get one more shot at Champions league.

Didn't even listen on the radio as the only thing I expected to find out was by how many.

Snaps, why so pessimistic? You follow a world class team who at worst are a top 6 team. Do you think Leeds supporters wouldn't take a top 6 slot in the EPL? Or Sunderland supporters? This isn't a dig at you, so please don't take it as such. Think of Robs brother. He's a West Ham supporter. If you were in their position you would be entitled to be gloomy. Look at the positive.

Your viewpoint is always from your own perspective and legitimate expectations.
I take your point but AFC fans are entitled to expect better. Losing I can take but it's watching us floundering where we used to be the byword for how to run a club. I'm refering to the whole ownership/admin/scouting set up. We have an owner who is not unambitious but his ambition is for profit and nothing to do with sporting success.

Fair enough. And yes losing by that score to a team you regard as "not better, maybe equal" (my words not yours) must be uncomfortable or just plain hard to swallow, but a loss doesn't change a good squad.

Aye :( We have a lot of players that aren't good enough and keep getting linked with other clubs. We should just move them on and spend the money on better.

We have a new striker who looks really good, but why have we still got Giroud? I know it's not easy to spot and buy great players at reasonable prices, but we seem to be muddling on with never-going-to-be great players.

Liverpool want The Ox? Sell him to them! Let's look for someone else who has the potential to be a great player instead of hanging on and endlessly believing he'll get better. He won't.

Either play Walcott or move him on, if he's not good enough to be first choice at his age, I'd rather have a younger player like Iwobi in that position.

I know it could be worse, we are lucky that the team we happen to support went from boring 1-0 wins on the break, to one teams play that way against.

But three games into the new season and it feels like we should write it off already. :(

If I were Sanchez or Ozil and in their situation I wouldn't sign for us, if it was just about money there's more available elsewhere, though we don't seem to have had any offers for Ozil and I'm not sure how he feels about China.
They stand far more chance of winning the league with either Manc side or Chelsea and definitely more chance of Champions League elsewhere.

Although Wenger signed a two year deal I think that situation is still affecting players signing extensions and even joining the club. I suspect that the board, toothless though it seems, are split and Gazidis probably hasn't the freedom to do as much as he likes and what changes we see, Mertesackers promotion and Lehmans appointment, are just a halfway house to try and keep everybody happy.
While Stan still sees an upward slope on the graph nothing will change. So he's not selling, Arsene's not going and the drop to 'only' a top 6 club will continue.

Don't be surprised if Wenger signs another two year extension in 2019.

I can't see him going to Liverpool, not when City are dangling such huge wages in front of him.

Sanchez? No chance. I meant join the 'club' of players handing transfers in.
Although Sanches may happen..
