Hmm... thought so.

Rooney if he plays should be captain. I know he`s young but he knows what to do. Otherwise Terry is a good choice as he has led Chelsea well from the back. He has always been a chelsea man and there has never been any doubt about his loyalty.

Roony to be England captain - are you having a laugh :o ? He is a psycho. That would be the worst decision! I cannot believe Eriksson actually said he would make a good captain - Roony is way too immature!

Becham is an amazing player but don't rate him that highly as a captain - especially with that stupid high pitched voice you can't take seriously!

Gerrard has done wonders for Liverpool can't see why he wouldn't be as much of an asset to captain England!

`Captain` does not equate to `best player`. When people say, `(Insert name) is much better than Beckham so should be captain..` well, who can argue?? :¦

The captain should be a player that shows commitment, desire and can be a spokesperson for the team. To my mind, Beckham does not do a bad job. If the armband was to be given to someone else, then it should be Terry.

Beckham has been awesome for Real.

Well said Gaffski. People still seem to judge Beckham on his performance in the Euro Championships, where he was clearly unfit.

It`s been two seasons since then and he`s been outstanding for most of the season.

I think he is extremely committed player - he doesn't chase the money and the fame like some players such as Rooney and Becham - and Gerrard concentrates on his football.
