Page 1 of ASDA are a DISGRACE
Retailer Reviews Forum
My wife first saw an advert in the national papers in August for some `Crop Trousers` in the must have collection. To cut the story short she has been in several times to our two local Asda`s & has been told to come back at various times which she did. She has phoned customer care on numerous occasions & again been told various date`s that the trousers would be in. She was told they would DEFINATLY be in TODAY Monday 09-10-06. Every time she was led to believe they would be in OUR LOCAL STORE. Today after months of waiting she phoned up both local stores & was told they don`t have them in & they wern`t expecting them in. She phoned customer services & was told that they will only be in ONE STORE in Manchester (Eastlands). They are supposed to have 300 pairs in. She has just phoned up this store & been told they don`t have any in. This is absolutly disgraceful & it is getting more common the way big business is treating it`s `customers` nowadays.

What does she want cropped trousers for in October? Is Asda the only shop in your town/city that sells clothes?

My missus went through similar with a pair of boots.
She specifically wanted a pair Asda were doing.
No other retailers were doing the style/colour she wanted (covers xfg`s question).
They didn`t have her size (she`s a 5,I think the most popular size for women).
Asda really didn`t have a clue as to when/if they were ever going to get any more stock in.
Asda seems to be run on the `jumble sale` principle,in that they haven`t got a bleeding clue what they are going to have to sell until the lorry turns up. :/

She liked that particular style. Not the point though, the service is appalling & to advertise something TWO months ago they never intended to stock, beggers belief.

From my understanding, George at ASDA get given what they have, and cannot order.
But if they advertised it, the ASA would like to know as it`s mis-leading, so let them take a a trip down the stairs from Traiding standards big, big brother!.
