dvdimport inflation

STORMTROOPER (Competent) posted this on Monday, 24th September 2001, 22:13

just went to check how much the superbit dvds were and they seem to have doubled in price in 24 hours - from $17 to $34 does this mean if u got in earlier then thats the price they charge u

i heard that dvdimport charge your account immediatly therefore no more cash in their kitty if they put it up

re: Superbit prices, this is crap. It`s been $17 for weeks, until just now when I checked because of this posting. Why didn`t I order before! Would have been interesting to see what I could get for $17...

Yes, it seems that DVD Import charge before shipping items. :-(

Yes, they charge before shipping. I have ordered three DVDs from them and received only one.

They never replied to my emails and after several phone calls they told me that they were not liable to losses in the post.

How can I be sure that they sent the 2 DVDs? I have ordered from many retailers and never had problems with lost packages.

I am not going to order any other DVDs from this retailer (or DVD Passion or DVD Warehouse which have the same phone and fax number as DVD Import). In fact can someone explain to me why they need three (or maybe more?) web sites instead of one? For me, it is strange.

Beware of the above retailers.

Regards.
Adrian

I`d use a credit card with Purchase Protection, like Amex or Barclaycard. Fortunately I`ve never had stuff go missing. I hope this helps some. :-)

when you order from IMPORT you do have the (somewhat expensive) choice of using a insured carrier but if you want free delivery you takes the chance i have dealt with IMPORT on many occassions (5 x die hard box sets+ more) and never had a problem as to multiple sites wouldnt you prefer to have multiple outlets if you were a retailer in a very (search engine?) crowded market there seems to be alot of people moaning at companies these days( PLAY,IMPORT,FUTUREENT etc) there has been a big shake up in air freight recently and maybe there is a backlog and also many suppliers source their disc`s from USA even region 2 disc`s can originate from there you know if you dont like taking risk`s to get cheap disc`s use the INSURED OPTION of delivery if not stick to shopping in your high street have fun and dont let the ODD bad experiance put you off touch wood out of all my dealings on the net not one has gone wrong

bye 4 now
