Is Amtrak always this rubbish?

Placed an order with Savastore on Tuesday and paid for next day delivery.

Receieve and email confirming Goods were despatched and promising Next Day delivery.

Waited in all day Wednesday, outer door ajar, 3 people in the house at all times and Door bell definitely working. No Amtrak.

This morning the website tracking claimed I had been Carded at 10am. Dont think so - was in the house at 10am in the front living room and NO CARD was left.

Sent the Depot a fax last night highlighting the above and asking them to ring me.

After ringing the local depot many times this morning I managed to get through. Was assured that a re-delivery attempt would be made today.

So, stayed in at home allday today and guess what - no Amtrak and no card.

Tried ringing the Depot between 4:30pm and 5:30pm a few times but each time gave up after 10-15mins on hold.

What a load of Bo**ocks!

They did it again!!

This morning the website states that they carded me yesterday at 10:58am - bunch of lying t**ts!

Harry,

I think Savastore may be to blame for this too. They have never been very good with their customer service and when things go wrong they do in a big way. It would not surprise me that the problem may stem from Savastore themselves. Have a look at this:-

I am in Essex and served by the Basildon Amtrak depot.

Finally got my order on Friday afternoon around 1:30pm and I think this only becuase I rang Amtrak head office and spoke to a helpful lady in customer liasons who chased the depot for me. She was not able to offer any explanation on why I had to wait two extra days.

Have emailed Savastore asking for a refund of my delivery charge but dont expect them to reply. I think I will take this up with my card company when I get my next bill. I am not going to pay for the next day delivery!

I had the same problem with a turntable 2 years ago.. If they can`t be arsed to find your house.. they just lie and say no one was in...

I went down to the depot and nearly got into a fight with the driver...

I`ll let you into a secret. Carding people counts as a drop so if the driver is getting paid per drop then they will actually card you or say you are carded to bump their pay up if they are having a lean week.

My old man runs two courier depots and some of the stories hes got would really make you laugh. Or make steam shoot out of your ears, depending on which side of the fence you are on.

The basic problem is that the bottom has dropped out of the market, pretty much. With the huge upsurge in internet shopping and the like, companies have sprung up all over the place, all undercutting each other, with some delivering for just above cost. As a consequence companies are forced to pay peanuts and get monkies. Seriously. Im surprised some of these are able to tie their shoes let alone drive a van. If you get cheap delivery, you will get cheap customer service. Im not saying this excuses it, but the margin on deliveries is so low they cut every corner you can think of.

But I will say this.....if possible, get something delivered to work, as drivers dont tend to f*** around with businesses and are very unlikely to randomly card you and if you are sending anything make super-duper triple sure that the consignment sticker is stuck on as securely as possible. Because if comes off its instantly declared undeliverable and who knows where it could end up..........

Trying tellinf f***ing Argos that. Last Friday ordered 2 irons & 2 telephones for work via internet - estimated delivery Monday. Monday comes and no sign, call them up and they saythey can`t find the building - for fuk sake they are delivering to a theatre complex! Say they will try again Tuesday - Tuesday comes and they say they still can`t find the place! They tried again on Wednesday with still the same result. So what do you reckon on the chances of getting it today - hey its snowing I bet they use that as a new excuse.

Lol...well they are a law unto themselves. Ive probably said this before, but I once ordered a bed from argos. 1 month later they delivered the bed frame and 2 months after that they delivered the matress....

After a few escapades like that I wont order anything from Argos that requires delivery. I would prefer to pay a bit extra and not go through the inevitable knacker ache of getting a perfectly simple order sorted out.

Oh, and its snowing near me too! Wont settle though!

Go to www.grumbletext.co.uk and then type Amtrak into the search box, there you will find info on how to contact the MD`s PA to sort it out.
