Asda entertainment online - Teething problems

Placed an pre-order for Cold play cd via their entertainment online. Was told it would be despactched with 4 days ( I think it was released on 6.6.05). Its now nearly 2 weeks later and their tracking system still showing as being processed.

Sent cancellation email and tried to speak to someone on their call centre. Was passed to 4 people (no one had a clue what to say or do). Eventually someone gave me the entertainment number 0845 3666 977 - which when I try doesn`t exist.

Have Asda bitten off more then they can chew at the moment? Clearly they`re selling cds & dvds etc from their entertainment online service, but don`t have the customer support for it and probably don`t have the stock to despatch, so why say will be despatched within 4 days?

I know they don`t charge until despatched but that`s not the point. Hopefully others haven`t had the same problem as me. I rate Asda instore fairly highly - but not sure about their online services. I`ll go back to CD Wow - at least you know where you are with them.

Update: got an email AT 12.45 today,saying my cd has been despatched :) with a standard note explaining how their delivery works.

I received my Coldplay CD from Asda today - took a bit of time but the price was good (at the time, anyway!). From looking at the Asda T&C`s, I think that the site is being run by The Hut and is not really part of Asda.

I`ve just sent them a letter of complaint. When I emailed a few days back to cancel order they wrote back saying it was despatched (That was Tuesday) I`ve had today`s post and still not received anything from them.

Its a shame they can`t run it like their Stores or use someone that does. That could explain it if The Hut (don`t know anything about them) are running it why the problems.

Update: got an email apologising for delay due to high volumes and to say my order was despatched on 15th June (yesterday). :( So which dept sent email saying it was despatched on 14th and who do you believe.

Friday 17th June - received the Coldplay disk - the plastic casing was cracked, also the spokes in the middle were broken and surprisingly it wasn`t even wraped/sealed ? Its going back!
