Page 1 of CDWOW to close?
Retailer Reviews Forum
I have heard on the internet grapevine that CDWOW is planning to close, and they are citing the reason for closure as the fact that the constant and somewhat excessive use of discount vouchers and codes has almost totally eliminated their profit margins.
Has anyone else heard this rumour? Had quite a few good bargains from CDWOW, be a shame to see them go under.
If that were true (which it isn`t), CD-WOW could just invalidate all vouchers.
And this is in the wrong forums...

lmao, what a load of toffee.
If they weren`t making money they would have stopped issuing vouchers and discount links months ago.
and btw isn`t this thread in the wrong forum?

Well if the profit margins have been hit that hard why do they keep giving out discount vouchers etc? Just before Xmas you could get 50p vouchers with every purchase.
I`d take this with a pinch of salt mate.

Mmmmmm, closing because of excessive discount voucher use. Im sure they could void any voucher they didnt want people to use. Im sure there`s a £1 voucher knocking around somewhere!

I didn`t think so, after all it is related to bargains.
Calm down people, just relaying what I heard! Glad to know it`s not likely anyway.
isn`t this in the wrong thread? ;)
Business as usual - got Alien v Predator and Top Gun 2 disc edition in same time as usual at same low prices.
They`re great
RE: CDWOW to close?
I have no idea wether it is true or not, but, if they did stop isueing Discount codes, how may people would carry on using them if they were no longer the cheapest? People who buy on price tend not to be loyal customers and if people can buy cheaper even with the loss of service they will. How many people still bought from Splash dispite the constant threads about them being s***e?
All the best,
