Tesco Very Good - Anyone disagree?
I have bought three DVD players from Tesco as presents for various members of the family. My own DVD player came from Techronics (which I have to admit I have had no problems with) but after reading many bad postings about them I would not buy from them again.
All the players I have got have been excellent and they continue to get ones that can be easily made multi region via the remote. This is excellent news since most can be reset back to region2 if a repair was needed.
The only problem I had was one of them had older firmware and would not play RCE discs. However, after a tip I got from this site I found that it would not play the R2 LA Confidential. I borrowed this from a friend and found that it would not play. When I contacted Tesco they were excellent and said they knew of the problem. I was expecting them to send a technician to test it (which is why I borrowed the disc as I thought saying it wouldn`t play some R1 discs would probably not be wise) but instead they said I should just send it back. They pressumably upgraded the firmware and it now plays all discs fine, even RCE discs. The whole process took less than a week.
Also the prices of DVD`s have been excellent recently thanks to the their No VAT offer. Try Tesco.com since they also offer good prices and so far I have found their service cannot be faulted.

They`ve also made a few boo-boos on their website (eg 7 DVD Clint Eastwood boxset £14 for a few hours - really). The great thing is they honour these prices !
Someone is, yet again, banished cleaning out the butchery at night again for that little mishap

ME!!!!!
Tesco seem to have cancelled everyones Buffy Season II DVD order, if they ordered for £42. They have done this without EMailing anyone. You have to check your order status to find out. Great customer service!!!

Yeah, they failed to honour the Clint boxset gag too, stating they couldn`t get it from their supplier (absolute garbage - how comes HMW and Virgin have got it on sale then ?).
They only deigned to e-mail me a week after they`d cancelled the order (and left a £1.25 P & P charge on there too), and that was after I had to e-mail them with a totally innocent e-mail.
OK, I wasn`t expecting them to honour the £14 price, but as a courtesy they should have written to all people who`d ordered to say they`d made a mistake, instead of coming up with that nonsense. Legally, however, they are within their rights not to offer goods if they are clearly labelled incorrectly !
