looking through their site they seem pretty cheap. as much as cost is v.important, recieving the stuff is even more important. i had a look through what people hav written in the past, but i was wondering if anyone has had problems recently?
i dont really like oredering off the internet anyway, and i havent done so from abroad before, anything i shoudl be looking out for, like taxes etc?
cheers guys
Placed my first of ten orders with them on 6 December, 2002, and have had no problems whatsoever. Four have arrived to date with another expected this week. Five are currently on pre-order or awaiting stock. Anything over £18 is liable for import tax if intercepted by Customs. However the postage ( airmail insured ) at DVDSoon is very cheap and it is rarely worth taking a risk to save a few pence ( i.e. CA$3.98 which is roughly £1.50 per disc.)
They mark all parcels as $12 in value, even my boxset Sopranos 3!!
I`ve always order individually (Well over 100 orders) but am now thinking of ordering in bulk, so you only pay $1.60 per film, if they ship as released. Would save me £1 a disc (About £150 a year!)
Still won`t answer my emails though!
Take an age to deliver - 13 days and counting.
Good prices, but their delivery sucks, don`t think I`ll order from them again
Hugh ,sorry to be critical but only 4 out of 10 in over six weeks and promises on the rest ?
That`s DVDSoon, probably the worst dealer on the net.
People will no doubt be fed up with me on this particular hobby horse but not one of over 15 of my orders was without major problems. After many weeks of waiting I cancelled nearly half.
Avoid them like the plague.
"Good prices, but their delivery sucks"
Is that not the fault of there postal service?
"Is that not the fault of their postal service?"
Probably but then I can get Region 1`s much much quicker elsewhere. I don`t think the saving of a £ or 2 is enough to persuade me to buy from them again. Not a patch on Play or Futureent or even EzyDVD who usually deliver in about 3 or 4 days.

I have to disagree. You have made assumptions without knowing the full facts.
My first order was placed on 6 December, 2002 and my last on 18 January, 2003.
Of these, four have been delivered so far ( within 7/10 days of the orders being placed.) I received a dispatch e-mail on 17 January, 2003, re my fifth order and expect to take delivery this week. I received a dispatch e-mail last night and expect to take delivery of my sixth order sometime next week.
My seventh is a pre-order which will be released in early February, 2003.
That leaves three orders which were placed on 27 December, 2002 and 7 January and 16 January, 2003, respectively. All of these were clearly marked as `Out Of Stock` when I placed my orders.
Several months ago I purchased the single disc Region 2 edition of `Grave Of The Fireflies` from Amotokyo in Japan. It cost in the region of £28.
I am currently waiting to take delivery of the two disc Region 1edition of `Grave Of The Fireflies` from DVDSoon ( my sixth order.) It cost less than £11.50 including postage.
The worst dealer on the net. I don`t think so.

I do not know where you get your one or two pound saving from. Play are currently advertising the two disc Region 1 version of `Grave Of The Fireflies` at £16.99 and guess what. It is `Out Of Stock.`
My copy from DVDSoon cost me £11.50. Although it was `Out Of Stock` when I placed my order, they sourced it within 10 days or so.
I will happily wait for delivery if I can save £5.50 per title.
OK Hugh Nimmo.
My Blue Crush (which I am still waiting for, 15 days later) cost me £12.18 from DVDSoon (that name still takes the p**s). I could have bagged it for £14.99 @ Futureent.
In my days £14.99 - £12.18 = £2.81.
My one or two pound saving should have indicated that £2.81 is not a mile off of £2.
Anwyay it`s my opinion and I`m entitled to it - DVDSoon are the slowest, my Grans old Lada Samara was quicker.......
