I placed my first order with this lot on the 3rd September for Monsters Inc. seeing as people were saying that they were shipping early and 10 days later its still not here.

I`ve sent 3 emails which have all been unanswered and no one wants to pick up the phone either.

Jeebus` advice: Stay away from this shower of s***e and stick with companies like play and cd-wow who can actually get your order to you in a couple of days.

My first and last order with futureent.com - pathetic customer service.

Jeebus

I have to disagree with you

I have bought loads of titles from this company and have never had any problems. I received Panic Room from them on Monday a week earlier than it`s scheduleded release

There probably awaiting new stock of this title as it will probably be up there as one of the all time biggest sellers

If this is the case then why not do a simple email to explain?

Its not good PR for a company when they ignore your emails. Left a bad impression on me, and I won`t be using them again.

This is all relative i`m afraid Jeebus, it`s just that you`ve been one of the unlucky ones, though i will admit that Futureents customer service IS appaling and their service isn`t exactly the best, for that, Play and CD Wow have cemented that enviable reputation, (even if they do get it wrong sometimes - their only human after all, yes HUMAN, they do have people workng for them, and they WILL make mistakes, whether you like it or not!), as have EzyDVD who in my opinion are THE top etailer for DVD`s as their service is very very consistent indeed.

With regards to Monsters Inc, Beauna Vista simply didn`t press enough DVD`s to go round, so we`re all going to have to be patient while the new pressings start to trickle in.

I agree with all that you say Westy, but online companies really should get their act together in regards to customer service. It wouldn`t take much to send an email, or put something up on the site telling customers that a DVD will be delayed and unfortunatly by not doing this they`ll just lose custom and gain a bad reputation.

In contrast I emailed Play.com this morning to query the price on a pre-ordered item (the lush 64mb mp3 player!) and recieved an answer in under 2 hours.

Can you guess where I`ll be spending my money in future with these tow companies?

Oh, and as an update I finally got to speak to someone on the phone at futureent and was told to send them a signed letter stating that the DVD hasn`t arrived.

The important thing to remember, is that the fundamental idea behind internet retailing, that has been said right from the start, is that it cuts out the `middleman` and that means the prices are cheaper, and there`s invariably more choice and ease of use.

However lets not forget that we CHOOSE to buy on the web, and it`s too easy to gloss over the fact that, somewhere down the line, without a trusty sales assistant, something will go wrong, and that setting up a dedicated customer service department will mean prices have to rise.

It`s bad, it`s frustrating and it stinks, but sadly these are some of the occasional glitches that we have to just live with! If you don`t like it, then you can always just waltz into HMV/Virgin etc and buy the DVD/VHS/Pc game etc that you choose to wait for and save money on, and be playing it the same day. Take it back if it`s faulty, and you get to see someone face to face. Loads of people still do this cause they haven`t got a computer, you don`t realise how lucky we are that these internet retailers offer us this in the first place!!

If you don`t like Futureent, fair enough - point made, but nobody`s perfect and you are just one of a small percentage who`ve had poor service from them. Just cause it was you, it doesn`t make them a bad company, just don`t use them again!

We`ve seen and heard this many many times before, and it will continue!

The best thing to do, is to phone them, they`ll tell you straight away whats happening with your DVDs.
A couple of months back, I hadn`t receieved an order for a while so I phoned them up, and they told me that it was discontinued. I was p***ed off, cos it was The Crow, and you can`t discontinue The Crow, and still sell them crap sequels!!!
Anyway thats the only time I had problems with them. So give em a call.
