I bought a 12TB Elements external disk a few months ago to back up my NAS to (that took a while! ) so not affected by this but it seems amazing - and a malicious actor within the company too? They seem to be doing as much as they can to help, including data recovery attempts and upgrades.
We will pay the price but we will not count the cost..
