If I accept that Thunderbird is now useless going forward can someone suggest how I might get back my email history.
I have a number of folders of stuff I still need to refer back to.

I seem to remember having this same grief when things swapped from POP3 to IMAP when I retired my old Dell machine. Which is still smiling a dust covered smile at me from outside the office door.
I really must rip the HDD out and take it to the tip.

bugger, hopefuly the files are still there in the profile directory, and you can manually configure an account to use those files?

if you're using imap i assume they're on server still, so should be retrievable again, unless you ticked the box to delete when downloading, but if you use webmail as well I hope you didn't.

No they should still be there but I've tried manually setting up and it reports that it finds those details but then I get that same error message when I click 'done'
