Got any Android Devices over 2 years old. Warning!

Google aren't updating their older tech, leaving security holes. Let's save the planet and replace our tech every year. Enough landfill and we'll raise land above the expected sea-level rise

One billion Android devices at risk of hacking

The problem really isn't Google - it's the phone manufacturers like Samsung etc.
They just drop support so they can sell the newer model.
Maybe the EU should legislate for a minimum support period.  Oh, erm.

That was one of my reasons for getting a Xiaomi MI A1 a couple of years ago, it's Android One - so gets gets android updates every month, rather than manufacturer for a limited time.

They did make the eco system which created the problem, because they wanted to stop Apple controlling the mobile market. So, they kind of are!

No, not at all Rob.
The updates are available - it's the manufacturers that 'choose' not to implement/deploy
them...

Microsoft manage to do it. Google deliberately chose to create an eco system where manufacturers were in charge of updates.
