Writer`s Release
I no longer use my desktop PC because I hate windows 8 so much. It's got 16gb of ram memory, an ssd for the operating system, & runs slower than an old windows xp machine I also have.
I was thinking about having it wiped & then reinstall windows 7.
Will probably still have it wiped. I know it's a small thing, but it really pi**ed me off that I had to "sign in" everytime I wanted to use it & yes, I did turn off the sign in, but it was always there when I wanted to use it.
Free until they decide to licence future updates for an annual fee.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary

It's only free for the first year. I guess they're a bit desperate to regain some popularity after the 8.1 debacle

That's strange, I love the Win7 UI, and I would never consider upgrading my desktop and games PCs to Win8, but it's never been for performance reasons.
Is your SSD not set up properly in the OS? I know when I put an SSD into my Win 8.1 laptop I had to do a few things manually relating to trim.

"Is your ssd not set up properly"
well it worked great with Windows 7. From pressing the power button to being able to use it was very fast, now it's really slow.
Sounds very much like a trim issue.
Check this page:
http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/39569-trim-support-ssd-check-enable-disable.html
And also check disk defrag settings for the drive, make sure its showing that it knows the drive is an SSD and is scheduled to run trim once a week.
