Interesting graph showing you how awful android phone manufacturers are at supporting their phones with software updates as they age.

Though it looks like iOS 7 will be the last OS my iPhone 4 will get. Still, shouldn't complain looking at the graph. :)

I guess it's not in their interest to support old phones with security updates etc, they'd rather you buy a new one.

my phone is relatively recent, but quite cheap, so I may root it to upgrade, but then there may be a performance problem if its processor is too low spec for latest Android :(

these may help

Android phone makers are notoriously bad at getting major updates out to their phones in a timely manner, and any hardware more than a year or two old is lucky to get updates at all.

Says it all for me really. :/

That and how much I've come to loathe Google's complete inability to make nice UIs. YouTube is my current bugbear, it's the most awful mess of a UI now. How can they have that much money and be that bad???

Oh wait... Microsoft.

Android manufacturers still awful at updates:

Frustrating, it's like Microsoft finally got their act together and now Google have created a whole new bunch of attack vectors.
