Hi everyone,

Thanks in Advance

Hi there
Would a desk top/ ps/2 keyboard help matters?
I have a vaio desk top. Sony made every excuse both imagineable and unimagineable not to replace a faulty cd drive that was well in waranty time.

RE: Laptop problem Sony Vaio
Hi Jemma,
Thanks very much but I have a keyboard that will go into a usb port on it which works fine, but i just wondered why the laptop keyboard has packed up for no reason.....Thanks again for your help

Hi there Doge,
I haven`t looked,
See if a replacement keyboard can be got for a reasonable sum from some where such as Ebay. Some times a laptop can be got for spares or repairs for a modest amount instead, just confirm the faults first.

It is probably worth whipping the keyboard out and making sure it`s connector hasn`t worked loose. I`ve seen that a couple of times on Dells at work.
With Dells there is either a few little tabs to move and you can lever the keyboard out (gently...) or there are a few screws hidden under some bit of the casing. A search on the web should find some instructions on removing the keyboard.
There is probably some kind of ribbon connector joining the keyboard to the mother board. Try disconnecting and reconnecting it.
I have no experience with Vaios but hopefully it won`t be too tricky!
