Advice on making DVD slideshows please
My mum is making some slideshows out of old family photos, using Windows Moviemaker. We`ve worked out how to make them no problems, just wondering what is the best format to save them in to put on a DVD to play on a tv? The test one we did as DV-AVI (PAL), which came out at about 500mb for about 3 minutes of slideshow. Is this what we need to make a DVD using Sonic, which I think is all she has on her pc?
Also, if we wanted to send a copy of the disc to someone in the USA, what would we need to save it as? Couldn`t see an non-PAL options in Moviemaker, would we have to send it as WMV and they`d have to use their pc? Oh, Sonic can be switched to NTSC, can I save a PAL video, then just set Sonic to burn in NTSC, would that work?
Thanks for any help, I`m hopeless with video formats :D

I just burn all our photos to a disc and they play on the DVD player - have you tried that?

That would work, but she wants something a little more fancy, with fades and pretty music. :D It`s a whole load of family photos dating back several generations, so she wants it to look really good. :) As I say, we`ve mastered making the slideshows, it`s just I`m clueless about video formats and which I should be using. :D

Proshow Gold.
Brilliant for slideshows. Add your own music, fades wipes endless choices.

That looks like good software, but she`s already made half of them in Moviemaker, she really wants to know how best to save them and burn them. :)
I found a nice flash slideshow maker the other day, I now have one on my Myspace big enough to make a dialup user cry :D

MPEG Video Wizard is a cracker! It`s so unbelievably easy to use and has everything you need to create a slideshow.....
