Problem making snazzy DVDs from DVD+RW discs made on Mico...

porl (Competent) posted this on Sunday, 2nd July 2006, 12:08

Hi,

Have transferred two tapes onto 2 DVD+RWs using the Mico Espejo.
The discs playback fine in the player, and indeed on the PC using PowerDVD.

I want to turn them into "proper" DVDs, (menus chapters etc), and I have either Cyberlink Power Producer, Nero Vision Exopress, or Ulead DVD Movie Factory to do this.

I seem to be having problems when I try to import the DVD files from the RW discs tho, soIm stumbling at the first hurdle.

Anyone any pointers? Or how would you best do it? The films are of loads of trailers, and the Mico has automatically added chapeters which are in the wrong places (I obvioulsy want the chapters at the start of each trailer)

Thanks in advance

thanks - have just tried this.

Still getting error message when I try to import the video files to the hard drive.

This time its giving me "Cyclic redundancy" error messages.

Does this mean that the files on the DVD+RW are corrupted?

But if thats the case, how come the discs play fine back on the standalone player, and also in the PC using PowerDVD???

cyclic redunancy does seem to indicate that the disc is dirty, scratched or just plain knackered. have you tried dvd decrypter and making an iso out of that?

no, havent tried that.

But then if the disc is dirty (which it doesnt look to be), how come the DVD plays fine on the pc with PowerDVD, yet the same pc and the same drive wont let any of the editing programs import the files????

I`ve no idea. Sometimes The manufacturers of these recorders don`t stick to the industry standard of dvd recording..... probably to avoid piracy......

Well if you play the whole film you will have problems. At the point at which it fails you will find it may jump or lock up. It may play better on other DVD players. It is very common for some recorders to record on certain media for it not to play on other players. It`s not a case of preventing piracy - home DVD recorders are not designed like that and do not encrypt the recordings.
