thedodge (Competent) posted this on Thursday, 22nd September 2005, 17:12

Can anyone please help, keep on getting a small box in the centre of my screen saying
"Runtime error has occurred do you wish to debug" it then has "Line" and a number(different every time) then "Error" And something written next to it eg. object expected.
then it s OK to debug or Cancel.
Whats that all about then?? sometimes it happens when the mouse curser runs over a link and I can never get to the link.
Please Help me
Thanks in advance

You will need to remove add-ins for Internet Explorer and then reinstall Internet Explorer. The object expected is probably caused by a partial uninstall whereby a Java object or VB object cannot be referenced hence the message offering you to debug the code using Visual Studio (if you have it).

To uninstall add-ins, go to tools, Internet Options, Programs, Manage Add-ins. Unfortunately I have no idea which add-in is the offender so it is best to remove all the add-ins.

I am almost certain that there is a corrupted DLL file or incomplete Internet Explorer Add-In. It can be caused by programs like adaware which spots valid spyware but does not fully remove it because a lot of spyware is difficult to remove and tries to re-install itself.

You can try this link:-
