Hi,
I bought a NOKIA 3220 on line on 4/9/05. On ORANGE Network.
When i put Orange Sim Card Into Phone - It Lights Up - Nokia Name Appears then i get :- -- SIM CARD REGISTRATION FAILED ??.
The Phone Has Not Been Used Yet, & I Have Not Regestered Anything.
There Is Nothing In Instructions About This
Please Help I Have Not Seen This Problem Before.
Regards
W Hadden
RE: NOKIA 3220 ON ORANGE NETWORK
skeezex,
Was the SIM card you put in the phone an old one or the one that came with the phone, as an old one if not used of late my have been "disconnected". If it was the new SIM that came with the phone, then you may have to phone up Orange to get it registered.
A friend of mine bought the same one a couple of months ago, and I do remember phoning them up to register the card, although I can`t remember if the phone came up with the same message when switched on before registration. :/
I think this is all to do with tighter controls being introduced on PAYG phones.
Hope it helps.

PS Prehaps you should have posted in the PCs and Mobiles forum & maybe got/get more responses ;)

THANKS
It was a New /Sealed Sim but i have had it for about 6 Months that i used
There is no Phone Number with it or Number with Sim Card that came with the phone.

RE: NOKIA 3220 ON ORANGE NETWORK
skeezex, have you sorted it yet? If not.....
Do you buy the phone on-line? If not, then you should have been registered in the shop, otherwise, after checking through the the OrangeQuick Start guide book that my friend got with her phone you have to do the following:
To register the SIM card you need to call 0800 079 0006 or
visit www.orange.co.uk/payasyougo/registration
I do seem to remember them telling her what the telephone was (if this was a precaution in case they thought that she wouldn`t be able to find it hereself, I don`t know ;) )
