Well the query is what is it. Live very rural and broadband will not be in my neck of the mountains for at least 12 months. Heard about this thing and checked out website, seems ok but before i take the plunge i thought i would ask my more knowlegable peers for advice. Anyone got any.

cheers.

I don`t know if it`s changed, but their privacy policy used to be *interestng*, iirc involving monitoring what sites you go to in order to better sell on your details.

If you want it for downloading then it`s not worth it because it compresses internet traffic.

A while back they used to glorify the number of awards they had won from various reviewers. The problem was that they were awarded by On-Speed themselves. Since then they have been praised by others.

Last time we tried it, it gave a decent compression rate for internet pagel oading but downloads in general were slower.

Didn`t think much to it, to be honest. Our dial-up connection is rc[at]p but if you have a decent, stable connection you might have some joy (and let me know who you get your decent, stable dial-up from!!).
AFAIK, there just this one 7-day trial of OnSpeed knocking around, so try before you buy: here
