help with Sony TVR-255E handycam

dkuk2000 (Elite) posted this on Tuesday, 6th September 2005, 19:29

This is really starting to get on my nerves >:(
It`s a Digital8 camcorder which captures great footage but the problem i`m having is trying to transfer footage fron the cam to the PC.

I`ve tried using windows movie maker and the footage pixalates (crap spelling) badly, when using Nero vision express it`s just as bad.

I`m using a usb connection to transfer the images.
Any suggestions ?

HI, If I understand you correctly then it is the same problem I first had. What you need to do is upload the footage through firewire to your computer for the best results.

Yep, using USB for captuing hi res AVI footage isn`t the best idea LOL!

I have the same camera - You must use a firewire connection for it to work sir.

Just thought I`d bring this thread back up again. What you need is a Firewire (or an i.link cable as Sony calls it). You can`t transfer digital images with USB; something the Sony manual doesn`t make that clear, especially for noobs.

A Firewire cable will capture the film at full high quality - USB is only really useful if you`re after a low res image, like for using as a webcam.

Hope that helps!

Here`s Chucky!

I can also highly recommend Adobe Premiere Elements for editing and burning the footage.
