Goodwood (Harmless) posted this on Thursday, 28th July 2005, 09:30

Hi.

I have recently converted a old concert video tape to dvdr,
in a nut shell, i would like to convert same dvdr to cd audio, so i can
play it in my Nad cd player and car.

Is this possible? if so what software programme would i need?

Thanks.

You could probably use Virtual Dub to rip the audio to a WAV file, then burn that to an audio CD using Nero.

There may be an easier/better way and I am sure someone will know it. :-)

DVD Audio Extractor
DVD Audio Extractor is a powerful software DVD audio extracting / ripping tool. It can help you to extract sound tracks from your favorite DVDs and save them as OGG, MP3 or Wave files

I used it myself recently, very easy to use. It is one you have to pay for, but has a fully functional free trial.

Does anyone have the serial code for the audio ripper??

I installed this some time ago, but when i try to get the serial code from the link above, it says i have had my entitled codes for that day and to try again the next day!
As it stands, i can only rip 5 mins at a time due to it being a "trial version" and this is proving difficult when trying to audio rip a whole film (ie Star Wars ;) )

Any help would be much appreciated. :) :)

Does that version allow more than 5 mins worth of recording at a atime??
Currently i am having to record each DVD chapter seperately instead of allowing the audio ripper to run the length of the film and automatically seperate the tracks. :(

If you are looking for a free way of doing it, look no further than DVD2AVI or DVD Decrypter-both will do the job easily - My personal choice is DVD2AVI, but both methods are as good as each other really

Yep, it does, as far as I can see, anything the full version does. I`ve done two gigs on it recently. If you put the chapter marks at the end of each song, it will divide it into tracks for you too. :)
