Page 1 of Sagem myX-7 - irda or data lead

The data leads for these phones seem pretty pricey on the Sagem site and irda connectors vary in price depending on whether you buy the cheap ones on ebay, with very expensive postage + packing, or simply pick one up at Maplins or Argos (also not cheap surprisingly). But what is the best method of transferring data to pc from these phones (irda or data lead) and if irda where is the best place to buy a quality compatible product ?
Anyone with an myX-7 got any thoughts on this (and thanks Reestit and Woolies for combining to provide such a bargain in the first place)

We got the kids one each at Xmas when the Woolies mis-price was on. They work flawlessly with IrDA, unlike the Alcatels the wife and I had. We`ve also just gone and got my-X7s for this reason, as I knew the infra red worked so well (unfortunately, not for the Woolies price - £75 in the clearance at Argos).

I use one of the IrDA dongles you see on Ebay, although last time I looked Maplins had started doing them, and wasn`t too badly priced. At least you can use a dongle with any infra red device you might get in the future, where a cable will only be good for that phone (or maybe certain phones in a range).

Hmm...just checked Maplins and I see what you mean, it`s £29.99, I`m sure it was £9.99 when I last looked at them on there. Maybe keep an eye out for when they next go on promotion, or get one off Ebay for around the £7.99 mark.

I`ve just found this shop doing them for £10.50, don`t what they`re like to use though :)

i bought a cheap myx6 data cable which i use on my mx7 a serial type could never get irda and a usb data lead to work propley dloaded sagem free my pictures&sound works a treat

I`ve got one, which isn`t used anymore (only used 3 or 4 times). It is boxed like new, complete with drivers, instuctions, etc. It is the exact same one in `beige` - to match PC.

You can have it for £20.

A quick follow-up. The £10.50 folk don`t seem to respond to email enquiries, gave them five days, so - back to ebay............ >:(
