Page 1 of Supanet Broadband question?
PCs & Mobiles Forum
As I`m one of the very few who still use dial-up, I have finally decided to upgrade to broadband. The 1Mb Supanet offer looks very interesting, but I have a question about their `no limits` policy.
It states...
No limits - download as many games, music, videos and software as you like** and then further down the page reads **Subject to strict enforcement of copyright law on peer to peer traffic. Has anyone got this 1Mb Supanet deal, and if so, are you allowed to use P2P programs?
Cheers.

RE: Supanet Broadband question?
over at www.ispreview.co.uk/talk/showthread.php?t=16708 the general concensus seems to be a total thumbs down.
P2p bandwidth throttling, £1 a minute support line and, the final nail in the coffin, its run by Tiny.

Thanks, Nick.
I ain`t going anywhere near anything that`s associated withTiny. I`ve learnt my lesson regarding those useless twats...appalling company! Bunch of cowboys!
Have you any recommendations regarding a broadband supplier (preferably with no limits)...I could be looking forever! Also, excuse my ignorance, but what`s the difference between datastream & ipstream?

There are some issues with Supanet broadband, they don`t like the use of p2p programs and threaten to terminate the service if they`re used for illegal downloads. How they prove this is another issue but then i never do anything illegal online... er.. yeah..
As for their unrestricted bandwidth, while this is technically true, it appears if you use a large amount of bandwidth they put you on a server with everyone else who uses a large amount of bandwidth with a higher contention ratio...
RE: Supanet Broadband question?
you should go with aol broadband. to me it is the best out there. you get free mcafee firewall, computer check , and free spyware software with it. aol also has all its own channels as well. you can also download as much as you want as well. no limits
