Page 1 of Help please...VHS transfer to DVD

Whats the best way of achieving this and is it expensive? :/

I`ve currently got a few old classic VHS film`s that currently arn`t on DVD. My thoughts are to transfer these VHS movies onto DVD.

What equipment do i need to allow me to transfer my film onto my hard drive?
&
What software is best to use to burn to DVD?

If the above is possible, where`s the best place to buy from and also receive advice in the process.
